1. How long will it take to get my photos?

A: Depending on the shoot you choose I offer different turnaround times. For a headshot shoot or in-studio portrait shoot, you can look at the photos almost straight away and decide. If it’s a lifestyle or documentary shoot, there may be a longer wait for a first viewing.

2. What happens if you get sick or injured and can’t photograph me? Or if I need to reschedule?

A: In the case of sickness or injury for either party, we will postpone and rearrange the shoot. Or if the event can not be changed, I will try to find another photographer to fulfil my duty.

3. Do I get the copyright to my photos?

A: The copyright for the images is retained by the photographer. However, you are able to use the photographs for personal or business use, but not for commercial use (to make money from the image), unless by prior agreement.

4. How many photos will I get?

A: It depends which shoot you go for. For a standard family shoot, I will show you about 70 images from which you can pick your images according to the package you purchase.

5. Do you instruct in posing? I am uncomfortable in front of the camera and think I am rather unphotogenic.

A: Everyone has a good side, I promise you. I endeavour to find yours, make you relaxed and comfortable, and work with you to ensure you get images you absolutely love.

6. Can you shoot in bad weather?

A: I can, but it’s not always best for you. Let’s rearrange if we can or adapt.

7. Do you edit all the photographs?

I make a selection of the best images, which I edit and colour tone. I will occasionally then retouch some of the images but the majority will be done after you have decided which ones you have chosen. I will only retouch where necessary.

8. Are you insured?

A: I have public and products liability and personal accident insurance. I am also DBS checked.

9. Do you have references?

A: Please see my ‘Kind words’ page, but I can also provide references if required.

10. Can I have black and white and colour images?

A: Yes you can. However, some images lend themselves better to colour or black and white and I will usually make that decision at edit stage. If both are viewed they are considered separate files and separate purchases.

11. Do we get the raw files?

A: I do not provide the raw files. I provide you with full resolution jpegs and resized jpegs for social media use

12. Can I just get the digital files?

A: If it’s a branding shoot or headshots, I provide the digital files. You have the option of buying prints and products, too.

If it’s a personal shoot, then the jpegs accompany the prints or products you choose. I sell collections of images, or you can buy individual a la carte.

12. How does it work?

A: If you would like to know more, we start with a Zoom or in-person chat to discuss your needs. From there, I take a 50% deposit to secure a date, and I will work on creating your mood boards and we will discuss your wardrobe and location.

The remaining session fee is due on the day of the shoot. After the photography session we will do an in-person or Zoom consultation to view your images. Here you can decide on the best package or product for you. Please note that all collections and wall art are in addition to the session fee, except where credit or images apply.
