Reveal: Day In The Life Family Photography
When I had young children, at home with three little ones, I was very aware of how transient those days would be and yet how absolutely precious they were. Yes, you are tired, it’s hard work and sometimes, you feel very isolated, but at the same time, I loved running my house and our lives together and I loved our little routines and activities.
Today, my children as teens remember so little of their childhood, and as life was always rushing by, I also see it as one big blur.
As a budding photographer then, I did my best to capture the moment when I could through photos, but what I really wanted, was someone else doing it for me. I wanted to be in the images without having to set up complicated tripod shots. I wanted someone to document our lives, just an ordinary day, everything from me hanging out washing, to tickling the children at bedtime. I wanted to hold on to these memories and be able to recall forever what a day would have looked like for us..
To be able to offer this to my clients is the next best thing. It is so rewarding to know the pleasure the whole family will get holding on to those memories, re-living a day during those fleeting treasured times again and again.
I photograph a day in your life – or we orchestrate it to be a day, or shoot over two half days. It can be an ordinary day, or it can be an occasion day, if you prefer – a trip out or a special event. We go through your images together and choose your favourite and add to a final album. You also receive a video of the images and of course, any image can make great wall art as well.
This makes a fabulous birthday or Christmas present, anniversary present or is an ideal Baptism or Christening present, or just simply a thank you gift.
And don’t worry if your family are more grown up! Those moments are still precious whatever their age and you can still capture the moment - it’s not too late!
